“The reason that unemployment is high clearly has nothing to do with taxes. Consequently, there is no reason to think that reducing taxes further will do anything to raise employment by reducing the tax wedge.
Additional evidence on this point comes from a new study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on taxes paid by average workers in its 34 member countries. The data [above] are for a single worker without children.
As one can see, the United States is a low-tax country with a total tax wedge of 29.5 percent. Three-fourths of O.E.C.D. countries have a larger tax wedge on average workers.
I have also included the latest data on the percentage of workers employed as a share of the working-age population. I think this is a better measure of the health of the labor market than the unemployment rate, which goes up and down for a variety of reasons unconnected to taxes.
Here, too, there is little evidence that taxes affect employment one way or another. Almost half of the countries with a bigger tax wedge employ a larger percentage of their working-age populations than the United States does, and more than half of those with a smaller tax wedge have lower employment ratios. There is simply no evidence that cutting taxes at the present time will do anything to raise employment.” - Bruce Bartlett: Taxes and Employment

Imagine that a virus suddenly appears in our society that makes people sleep 12–14 hours a day. Those infected with it move about somewhat slowly and seem emotionally disengaged.
Many gain huge amounts of weight – 20, 40, 60, and even 100 pounds. Often their blood sugar levels soar, and so do…

Bradley Manning is a US military whisteblower that is truly paying the price for allegedly leaking footage used in the video released by WikiLeaks, called Collateral Murder. He is reportedly confined to a room 23 hours of the day, forced to sleep and stand at attention naked, basically driven to go mentally insane, among other things… He is being made an example of, in order to scare away anyone else that night get the same idea. I will not fear my own government. My government should fear me. (though I do declare I wish no harm upon even my enemies)
In a world ready for positive change, Bradley Manning would be removed from his confinement and given an award for bravery and for peace making. To expose human rights abuses, abuse in and of the US military, civilians being killed unnecessarily and provide us the thousands of documents that allow us to get an unheard of perspective of foreign affairs…. (the diplomatic cables) Is to promote the truth- which will absolutely uphold a government based upon the best interest of the people.
The US military has been abused by the “powers that be”, for long enough. I have heard, for years, the tear filled stories from veterans of our many wars, about the abuses that go on in Iraq and Afghanistan, among many others. Its time for citizens to declare how things must be done.
We will not torture or kill for sport, our fellow living creatures.
We can think of betters ways to resolve conflict than war.
We will hold living creatures unnecessarily in confinement.
We will uphold the principles of truth, liberty, justice and courage with wisdom.
We are the USA.
The precarious decline in children’s participation in mathematics can only be reversed by tackling a complex mix of factors, including positive and negative attitudes of a student’s parents, peers and teachers, new research from the Univ. of Sydney has found.

I have very few criticisms of Julian Assange’s new show. In fact, I am inspired and quite satisfied by what I saw (weeks late). I highly recommend you check it out. The information presented is invaluable.
Now- Julian Assange, on the other hand, is in some serious trouble with me, personally.
Why in the world would he have M.I.A. do his soundtrack when he MUST know **I** am PERFECTLY available to do it!!!! Did he think i might turn down the job? Maybe he just assumed I had much more important things to do? Why, Julian? I can take time out of my busy schedule for your show, all you had to do was ask…..
